Reef and rum punch

Booked the catamaran and snorkel combo for our first day in Negril and it set the tone for the whole trip. The water off the reef was warm and clear enough to see fish without diving down, and the crew handed out rum punch on the sail back as the sun dropped. Easily the highlight of our negril jamaica excursions tours.

Black River morning

We went early to beat the heat and the Black River was glassy and quiet, with crocodiles sunning on the banks. Our guide knew every bird and turn of the mangroves. A calm, unhurried half day.

Cliffs at sunset

Rick's Cafe gets crowded but the West End cliff jumping is the real draw. I watched local divers go off the high ledge while the sky turned orange over the water. Go before sundown to get a spot near the rail.

Smooth pickup, great day

The hotel pickup for our negril jamaica excursions tour was on time and the van was air-conditioned, which matters in July heat. We did YS Falls and the driver let us linger at the swimming pools longer than scheduled. No complaints.

Snorkel with the family

Took the kids on the reef snorkel and the guides stayed close in the shallows the whole time. Calm water, plenty of fish, and life vests for everyone. One of the better negril jamaica excursions we've done on the island.

Bamboo raft calm

The bamboo rafting was slower and more peaceful than I expected, drifting past green riverbanks with only the sound of the pole in the water. Bring sunscreen because there is little shade midday. Lovely way to see the interior.

Seven Mile sail

YS Falls was greener and taller than the photos suggest, with rope swings over cool pools. The guide pointed out where to climb safely and where to just float. A refreshing break from the beach heat.
